ATEX Inspections & DSEAR Assessments

Premier LEV arranges electrical Ex equipment inspections, mechanical and non-electrical equipment inspections, and DSEAR risk assessments through specialist engineers. We coordinate work at customer sites, with the scope matched to your equipment, substances and processes.

Electrical Ex equipment inspections

Arrange inspection of electrical equipment used in potentially explosive atmospheres. Share your equipment register, hazardous-area information, previous inspection records and manufacturer documentation. The specialist agrees the inspection scope, access requirements and any isolation or shutdown arrangements before attendance.

Mechanical and non-electrical equipment inspections

We also arrange inspections of mechanical and non-electrical equipment, including relevant extraction equipment. Tell us about fans, dust-handling plant and other equipment within the proposed scope. The review is matched to the equipment, operating conditions and available technical records, with findings and recommended actions documented.

DSEAR risk assessments and hazardous-area classification

Our specialists can assess risks associated with dangerous substances and support hazardous-area classification. Provide details of the materials used, safety data sheets, processes, site layout and existing controls. The agreed assessment identifies relevant findings and actions; any zoning work and supporting drawings are specified in the quotation.

DSEAR addresses workplace risks from dangerous substances. Equipment inspection, risk assessment and hazardous-area classification are related activities with different purposes. We identify which services you need and what each deliverable covers. Read HSE guidance on DSEAR and ATEX and explosive atmospheres.

Coordinate with your extraction requirements

If your process also requires LEV testing and examination, we can discuss the work together. An LEV performance examination does not replace a DSEAR assessment or an Ex equipment inspection. For powder-handling areas, see downflow and powder-control booth testing.

Arrange a site visit

Send your site postcode, equipment list, process description, existing assessment and preferred dates. Premier LEV remains your point of contact and coordinates specialist delivery. The quotation confirms the scope, records required, site arrangements and reporting. Remedial work and any return inspection are agreed separately.
