LEV Commissioning

Commissioning confirms that a new, altered or repaired LEV system is installed as designed, performs as intended and is ready for safe handover. Premier LEV provides practical checks, measurements and clear commissioning records across Manchester, Lancashire and the UK.

For laboratory installations, see fume cupboard testing and commissioning and our fume cupboard commissioning case study. We also coordinate cleanroom validation and agreed IQ/OQ work through specialist engineers.Plan your commissioning visit

Tell us whether you are installing a new extraction system or changing an existing one. We can discuss the work, the information available and the checks needed before agreeing a quotation.

Send the details that matter

  • Your site postcode and preferred timing.

  • The process, materials and dust or fumes being extracted.

  • The number of systems and extraction points, with photographs where available.

  • Design drawings, equipment specifications and previous reports.

  • What has changed, and any access or production constraints.

Send your commissioning enquiry or call 0161 884 4200. If some records are unavailable, tell us what you have so we can identify the next steps.

Agree the checks and handover

Commissioning should assess how the extraction performs under the intended working conditions. The scope should identify the process and substances, the assessment methods, and the performance needed at the extraction points.

The resulting records should explain the findings, test conditions, performance benchmarks and any defects or limitations. These help inform future examination, maintenance and use. See HSE’s commissioning guidance for the employer’s responsibilities and report requirements.

Choose the right follow-up

For an existing system due its periodic examination, see LEV testing and examination. If a report identifies defects, explore remedial works. For a new installation or redesign, visit system design and installation.
