What an LEV Thorough Examination Report Should Contain

A thorough examination report should make it clear what was tested, what was found and what needs to happen next.

It normally identifies the workplace, the process and extraction points covered, together with the hoods, ductwork, filters, fans and other equipment examined. It records the measurements and observations taken, any defects or limitations, and the information that was unavailable.

A useful report compares findings with the system’s intended performance or earlier evidence where that information exists. It should explain priorities and recommended corrective action, while separating examination findings from servicing or remedial work. A repair alone does not prove that the system is satisfactory; appropriate checks and retesting may be needed after changes.

Before booking an examination, gather the previous report, commissioning information, system drawings if available, details of recent changes and the date the next examination is due. Tell the examiner about access restrictions and arrange safe access to the equipment.

Premier LEV’s team holds BOHS P601, P602 and P604 qualifications. We match the examiner and equipment to the system, site conditions and work scope. To discuss your system or request a quote, visit the LEV testing page or contact Premier LEV.
